I am a member in the Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer e.V. (BDÜ).

Membership in this organization requires certain qualifications:
  • degrees, certificates or examinations in translation, interpretation and languages
  • court certification (which in turn is not possible without these qualifications)

This means that being accepted for membership is a qualification in itself.
